With the success of our recent underwater photo sessions we have now opened a new service for Clubs and Individuals to have one of our specialists underwater photographers film their swimmers from above and below the pool deck.
Matt (Gold Coast and South Brisbane) and Duane (Sunshine Coast and North Brisbane) are now available to come out to your Swimming Club or family Pool for 1-2 hours and provide you with quality images of each swimmer. Both photographers use only the latest Nikon and Canon technology and video is also available if required.

2009 Noosa Triathlon Festival

Sporting Images provided coverage for the recent Noosa Triathlon Festival and congratulations go to the all the competitors and organisers of the week long event.

We had 7 photographers at the Noosa Triathlon on Sunday and covered the swim exit with 2 photographers. Over 46 000 images were taken in one day by our 7 photographers during Sundays main race. Click Here to view all the festival photos taken.

Queensland School Sport 19yrs & under Track & Field Championships – Brisbane

Sporting Images recently provided coverage of the Queensland School Sport 19yrs & Under Track & Field Championships in Brisbane with 4 photographers and over 40 000 images were taken over the 4 days.

The photos were taken with a mixture of Canon (Mk3) and Nikon ( D300) cameras with lenses varying from 15mm fisheyes to 500 f4 VR lenses. The 100m finals had 3 different camera angles on it again this year, and we also trialled an underwater camera in the steeplechase this year. Duane has done a Blog Explanation on how he came up with the underwater images.

2009 World Triathlon Championships – Gold Coast

Sporting Images, provided coverage of the 2009 World Triathlon Championships on the Gold Coast. Over 80 000 images have been captured by the 9 photographers over the 4 days of events using Canon and Nikon equipment.

For the first time at an Age Group Championships, Sporting Images had a photographer with an underwater camera photographing the athletes as they exited the water and these proved very spectacular images with our photographer spending up to 6 hours in the water each day capturing most athletes exiting. 2009 Australian National U15 and Oceania Cadet Fencing Championships

Over 3000 action photos have been taken over the 5 days of this event held at Brisbane Grammar School, and to view all the images from this event Click Here.
Duane is using a Nikon D300 camera with the new Nikon 500 f4 VR lense (3200 asa 400th at f4) and a Canon Mk3 camera with a 200 EF 1.8 lense (3200 asa 1000th at 1.8) and Lucas is using a Canon Mk3 with a EF 400 2.8 lense.
Duane has also covered Fencing at the last 4 Olympic Games

2009 Noosa Blue Water Swim

Sporting Images covered this event with Duane and Matt providing the action photography. Everyone enjoyed the great day in superb weather and a lovely setting, and even the local dolphins made an appearance just before race finish. All 4500 photos are sorted by cap colour and are available to view at the following link

The action photos at this event were taken using all Nikon equipment. Duane used a D300 camera with a 400 2.8 lense (200 asa f4 at 2000th) and Matt used an Nikon D200 with a 20mm lense (500 asa f8 at 1250th) in an Aquatech housing.

2009 Australia Swimming National Age Championships – Sydney

Sporting Images had 4 photographers covering this event with over 55 000 images taken in all 152 events over the 6 days of competition. Using both Canon and Nikon long lenses and Pocket Wizard remotes (above and underwater for some events) Click Here to view all the images.
This is the second year we have covered this event and images from the 2008 National Age Championships in Brisbane are still available to view in our Archives

Duane took the underwater images on day 3 and 4 with a Canon 5d mk2 camera and a 70-210 EF lense at 6400 asa 400th at f4. Duane also used the new Nikon VR 500 f4 lense with a Nikon D300 shooting at 400th at 3200 asa for the action and portraits at the start/finish.
Matt used his Nikon D300 camera with a 400 2.8 lense and Lucas had his Canon Mk3 camera with a 400 2.8 lense for the action photos either side and at the end of the pool.
Trent covered the finals action with a Canon mk3 camera and a 400 2.8 lense shooting at 500th at 3200 asa.
After the event completed, it took a team of 3 staff to sort and load all the images onto the website and all 55 000 images were available 5 days after the event.
